Road trip: Day 5

This morning we had to make changes to the schedule as both my foot and hip was doing poorly so no national park today either! 😞

Our first stop of the day was just a short distance from the B&B as we decided to check out the worlds smallest movie museum, Hasse & Tagemuseet (B). Hasse and Tage are two famous actors/directors in Sweden. The small building only takes 8 people at a time so we had to wait 45 minutes for our turn.

For lunch we stopped at Ingelsta Kalkon (C), a Swedish turkey meat provider. I chose Turkey’n Chips.

Next we made a quick stop in Smedstorp (D) in order to view their little marker for being in the middle of Österlen (the name if the area of this part of Skåne).

Sandhammaren (E) is the southwest point of Sweden and has a fantastic white beach and a not so pretty lighthouse.

Point F was supposed to be the highlight of the day, Ale stenar/stones. Unfortunately it was a 700 meters walk, one way, from the parking lot to the actual location of the stone ship and after 450 meters my hip totally “broke down” and it was impossible to continue. So instead of seeing the Ale stenar we walked back to the car. 😢 Sometimes I really have a hard time accepting the fact that when my joints are doing poorly I have to skip certain things. I took a few photos along the way back…

We stopped in Ystad (G) for ice cream before heading back to the B&B (H). Now I’m resting before dinner. Last nights meal was so great that we decided to eat here tonight as well. Today Goulash is on the menu!

It’s a pity about your hip playing up! Grrrr. I must say, though, 700 meters is a long way for many people to walk! Your holiday is still sounding great, and you seem to be managing to find some lovely food spots and other attractions to look at. 🙂
