Today is exactly 10 years since I meet Mathias at Paddington station in London. True, we met online some months before, but it wasn't until we actually met in real life that we figured our chemistry worked not just in writing. 🙂
We were supposed to meet on June 12 already, but Mathias was stuck at Houston airport due to bad weather so I spent the first 1,5 day in London by myself. We had tickets for Mamma Mia that first night and I had to go there by myself. I'm sorry he missed that performance because the one we saw in Denver years later was just not as good.
So, after we meet at the street-corner by Paddington station we walked in Hyde Park for a bit–we didn't even have to go back to the hotel to leave Mathias luggage because he had none. That was still in Houston and we picked it up the next day from the airport–and then took one of the open-air sightseeing bus. I remember we had a hilarious time on the bus laughing at how the bus went by 2 places 3+ times during the ride. Every time–except the first time obviously–we got there we said "oh, we haven't been here before…" 😀
Oh, yeah, and the weather 10 years ago was so much better than today! It was sunny and warm.
We then spent 10 more days in England, both in London and in the Kent district, before going to Sweden on June 23rd.
During these past years I've experienced things I never thought I would. Not in my wildest imagination did I think I would move to Denver, Colorado and spend almost 9,5 years there. I've not seen everything I want of USA, but I've seen much more than I would have if I just had gone there on a vacation. I've learned to love another country and culture, but I've also gotten an stronger appreciation of my own.
Lastly, I want to say some quick words to my dear hubby… you truly is the best thing in my life. I don't know what I would do without you! I'm grateful for having you–and your family too–in my life, and I love you so much!
