Last night I watched the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest, this year from Moscow. First time since 1999 that I've seen this contest live on TV. Some years I tried to follow it online but that was quite a pain due to bandwidth so I started ignoring it all together. But back to last nights show…
It was 18 countries competing and of those 10 went to the final on Saturday. After hearing the first 9 performance–one of which was the Swedish entry–I was convinced "our song" would be among the 10 contestant going to the final. Many of the songs last night was just plain AWFUL, either due to the song, costume and/or performance. Maybe I've been outside of Europe for a long time but I just don't get some of the styles. Or am I just getting old?! ;) Also, I guess I'm a bit old-fashion but I do like the countries which are stubborn enough and actually sings in their native language. True, that with having lyrics in English "everyone" will understand them, but I found it quite charming with all the different languages as it used to be. And, yes, Sweden did get through to the final! Next semi-final is on Thursday.
Most exciting thing today so far have been my physical therapy appointment. Today was just a first meeting with a conversation and some "check up" on my knees. The actual physical therapy training starts on Friday and then I will have it twice a week for a while.
I'm looking forward to having my hubby back home tonight! He's back from the cruise as of this morning but he went straight to work.
Oh and before I forget… after I transferred my blog to Typepad last summer all of my old blog posts got assigned a "uncategorized" category and I'm going to go through all of them manually to assign more informative categorizes so I apologize in advance if that will somehow look like old posts are "new" again and you'll get bunch of a daily email with some old posts part of them. I don't think that will happen, but I thought I would write about it anyway.
