Rocky Mountains

Today is actually the first day since we moved back that I've missed seeing the mountains. Not really sure why it hit me because I was in the middle of a tunnel in the subway, but there it happened anyway. I guess it is rocky down there… :) I'm loving to be close to the water though, which I truly missed in Colorado so I'm happy about that part. Maybe it's time for a short trip to the Swedish mountains, although, I wouldn't call those mountains… I know they ARE mountains, but after being in Colorado and around those mountains I would more or less call the Swedish ones hills. Not to be mean, but yeah, that's what they are to me! Maybe I change my mind when I get to see them "for the first time" again.

And, now we're coming to a first for my blog… a book review! When we went on the cruise I took a book with me, The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. I finished it yesterday because I just couldn't put it down. It was an amazing book. Horrifying at times, sad and awful at other times, but also excitement and laughter.  Mr. Hosseini has truly written a wonderful story and allows a view into the Afghan way of living and culture before the monarchy ended, but also after it. As horrifying as some parts where I'm sure it's nothing to what happened to some in real life. The main thing of the story is about friendship, family, growing up, redeem oneself, and love and war. For anyone close to me I got it in my bookcase in English, and you're more than welcome to borrow it! For the rest of you you have to find it in a book store or on Amazon or something…
