Today is a very exciting day as Barack Obama took office. As we don't have TV at home I had to watch it online–thank you CNN! 🙂 Today is also the first day since I arrived in Sweden that I actually felt it would have been cool to be in the US. I just know how much energetic and excited everyone was after Obama won the election and I know today would have felt even more special than that. It was cool to watch everything online and see all the people at The Mall. Gosh that was a lot of people there! Unbelievable! I can't even begin to imagine how it felt to stand on the steps at the Capitol looking out at all the people. Must have been an amazing sight.
Yesterday I met an old girlfriend for dinner. We haven't talked since 2005 (or if it was 2006) so it was really nice to see her again. We had so much to talk about that the time just passed by quickly. Suddenly it was 8:30pm and time to go home. Looking forward to see her more often now that I'm back in Sweden.
Other exciting news is that our living room is taking shape. The walls and ceiling are finished and the color looks great! Sunday my dad and Mathias put together the bookcases, and now we have to find a sofa and coffee table to buy so we have some more comfortable place to relax in. Then it's time for the next room which will most likely be the foyer.
Saturday we visited my grandmother and aunt and family in Gävle in order to celebrate my grandma's 89th birthday. We had a nice time as always and it good to see that she seems to be doing better than some weeks ago.
