On July 4th we celebrated by preparing an US dinner for our parents and siblings. We made chicken wings and hamburgers. I had also bought napkins and plastic tableware with the US flag on in Denver before we left. So, it was a “genuine” 4th of July celebration. Only thing missing were the fireworks!
On Thursday morning my parents picked us up and we drove to Gavle (2 hours north of Stockholm) where my fathers family is from. My grandmother and aunt (and her family) lives there still. We were there 2 nights (3 days) and spent most of our time eating dinner or having coffee and cakes! 🙂 We also went to Mackemyra Whiskey distillery, which is the only distillery in Sweden. They are going to release their first “real” whiskey next year.
Now we are back in Stockholm and will be here until July 12th when we go back home to Denver. Tonight we will visit Mathias sister and her family for the last time. Tomorrow it is our parents turn, and on Wednesday it’s packing day. So, the next time I’m writing it’s from my computer at home!
